What tools will I need to complete the fit-out?

Does everything I need for the installation come included?
We’ve made the installation as simple as it could possibly get! All boards, bench-tops, hinges, drawer sliders, screws, and angles are all included in your package along with an instruction manual. You will, however, still need the four items outlined in the question above - a fraction of the tools you’d need to do a fit-out from scratch!

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Do you do custom orders?
Nope! We’re keeping it as simple as the life we’re all trying to live. For now, we’re launching with 6 layouts, and the extent of our customisation will be the various colour options available for each layout. However, as we grow, so will our product range! So stay patient, stay tuned and hopefully, we’ll have a base layout that suits you in the near future.
Can I add to my fit-out by putting in a panel roof or electrics etc.?
Yes, absolutely! We just provide the base to get you cruisin’. From there, add as much or as little as you like to make your van life as colourful as it needs to be.
Can we mix and match benchtops and boards?
Currently, our colour options are set.
Can I add in additional drawers?
Some layouts will allow for additional drawer storage. This will be at an additional cost and through enquiring at info@vanlifediyfitouts.com
Do you make installations for all van models? How do I know if mine will work?
We currently have layouts to suit the most common van models from 1995 onwards.
From VW Transporters to Ford Transits and Toyota Hiaces, we’ll likely have a layout to fit your needs. Jump through to our product enquiry page to find out more, or alternatively email us at info@vanlifediyfitouts.com.
What parts of my van need measuring in order to make sure I get the right layout for me?
➔ Overall internal length
➔ Internal height
➔ Internal width
➔ Floor height to the bottom of side window (eg. if you got the Fresh Highs model or High Life Long Life and you have side windows in your van - the top height of the cupboards may overlap the window.)
➔ Find out if you have a Short Wheel base (SWB) or Long Wheel Base (LWB) ◆ You can do this by searching your VIN number in google to see what base you have, which will let you know which of our layouts will work best for you.
Is postage included in my order?
It will be added on to your shopping cart in the checkout process and we will provide a postage calculator - so you can work out how much it will cost for your destination.
Can you install my fit-out for me?
No, we do not instal your fitout for you. You are welcome to come and pick it up from the workshop but we cannot install it for you. If you have any other Q’s about this please email info@vanlifediyfitouts.com to find out more.
Once I put it into my van, is it easy to take out or is this a permanent option?
Each fit-out can be removed after installation - but it’s not something you can pull in and out for a weekend.
They’ve been designed to be permanent for durability and longevity. However, if you’re looking to do a 3 month trip - it is possible to install then uninstall if you wish.
Is there a Warranty?
We provide a 12-month warranty on all boards and moving components. Please read our T&C’s for full details.
What happens if I choose the wrong layout for my van?
Our ordering process will take you through a series of questions specific to the dimensions and typology of your van. These questions help determine what type of kit will fit your van, and by the end of the process, we’ll be able to show you exactly which kits will fit your van and which kits won’t. However, be sure to reference the plans for the model you’re after and double-check your measurements. Measure twice - buy once.
If somehow you enter the wrong measurements and choose the wrong van layout, you can return it at your expense and we will credit the value of another pack to purchase (+ a handling fee of $250) - provided that the entire contents of the pack are still in the condition they were delivered in.
AND if it’s an error on our part, we will replace it at our expense - no questions asked - see our T+C’s.
Once I order, how long until I receive it?
You can expect your delivery around 5 - 7 weeks from the original date of order. *Depending on material supply issues it could be a bit longer but we do our best to get it to you ASAP so you get can on the road.
How long will it take me to install it?
If you take the partially assembled option, you’ll be able to install and be on the road in your new vibe temple, in under 6 hours.
Otherwise, set aside 1-2 days of funky, beat-ridden installation.
Where do you deliver to, and do you deliver internationally?
As of October 2020, we ship to almost all areas in Australia.

Can I install this on my own?
All models can be installed on your own, however, we highly recommend having a sidekick to help knock out your install quicker, for banter purposes, and to jam to tunes while you're creating your vibe-temple-on-wheels.
We also recommend having someone help you when receiving or moving your pack, as it may require two people to safely lift due to the weight of the pack.
How much does the fit-out weigh in total?
Packs weigh between 180kg - 285kg approximately, depending on your kit model.
